Heart Attack Day: April 14th

Each year, over 2,000 heart attacks are treated at St. Boniface Hospital. The Manitoba ACS Network was established to improve outcomes in these patients. 


Heart Attack Day is coming up *so* soon - April 14th! Make sure to get registered ASAP at the link at the bottom to not miss out.

Our Heart Attack Day is designed to help healthcare professionals navigate barriers to find the resources patients need, and to teach Manitoba physicians, nurses, pharmacists, allied health, cardiology technologists, paramedics, and educators the best care of patients with heart attacks. This year, Heart Attack Day is on April 14th.


Heart Attack Day is a virtual event, running from 08:15 until 16:45. Topics during the day will include: 


  • An update on ACS Network projects, such as Dial Don’t Drive, Ten Minute Tracing, and Tailoring Post Discharge

  • ECG sessions - telemetry strips and when ST elevation is not a STEMI 

  • Discussing preventative care and how to approach risk in your patients

  • Cardiac care provided by paramedics

  • A guide to self health

  • Rapid Response Nursing and remote home monitoring

  • A panel discussion and Q&A

  • My Health Teams and ACCESS centres

  • Breakout sessions: cardiac rehabilitation, community resources, paramedics, ACS Network research, cardiology technology, patient education and engagement


… and more! Speakers will include a variety of backgrounds, professions, and approaches.
